Pottery Barn, Coldwater Creek, J. Jill, and The Sharper Image are among retailers making their debut in New Mexico
June 27, 2006 - Albuquerque, NM
Hunt Building Corporation has officially announced the first 21 upscale retail stores signed to its new ABQ Uptown development.
The official signings are Pottery Barn, Talbots, Williams-Sonoma, Jared The Galleria of Jewelry, Coldwater Creek, Jos. A. Bank, Elephant Bar Restaurant, Bravo! Cucina Italiana, BCBG Max Azaria, White House / Black Market, soma by Chico’s, LOOP, Chico’s, Marcello’s Chophouse, World of Knives, Cingular Wireless, J. Jill, Eddie Bauer, Borders, La Bella Spa & Salon, and The Sharper Image. Several of these retail stores are making their debut in New Mexico.
“We’re very excited about this group of stores at ABQ Uptown,” said Josh Hunt, project developer, Hunt Building Corporation. “They are the perfect introduction and anchor for the whole development. The project is going to be a terrific addition to Albuquerque’s economy and truly make an impact as a new neighborhood destination.”
In addition to the confirmed stores, Hunt is currently in negotiations with several other national retail stores that will be making their New Mexico debut at ABQ Uptown. Additionally, ABQ Uptown is looking for New Mexico retail stores to join the Uptown family. There are still a few retail spaces available for lease. Companies interested in leasing information about ABQ Uptown can call John Sedberry with Sedberry & Associates at (505) 855-7650.
Located in the heart of the city’s retail district on the corner of Louisiana and Indian School, the development, billed as “A Unique Urban Community”, is destined to become Albuquerque’s newest live-work-play hub, complete with retail space, residential units, restaurants, entertainment venues, and a hotel. The completion of retail space will be the first phase of this mixed-use community, and the high-end stores will help to identify the new space as a lifestyle center, not just a shopping mall.
The next phase of the project will commence in fall 2006 and will consist of 190 urban loft apartments. Phase three of the project will feature a hotel, for sale condominium units, and additional retail spaces. A central main street will link up the residential, retail, and hotel space that will be completed in phase three of the project, creating a unique community and lifestyle destination.
